"I've wanted to do a bare-faced shoot with a long time. I have a bajillion photos of me on here from photoshoots/performances/parties ect where I am made up to the nines and have awesome hairdos, and I get a lot of comments from girls all the time, saying things like they wished they looked like that or that their skin looked like that or things along those lines. While I sincerely appreciate these comments, I just wanted to point out that make-up is a miraculous tool that can hide imperfections and enhance features, but no-one looks like this all the time!

Being a performer/model and a creative person who enjoys taking pride in their appearance, of course Im going have a lot of images that look *fancy* and shit, but most of the time this is not the case. I fear that girls begin to get unrealistic views about beauty and spend too much time judging themselves against others. I myself have struggled with skin problems for years - acne, redness - and I am a pro at covering this with foundation when I want to, but I am also comfortable going without any make-up at all, as I do most days for training/dancing. Most girls don't see pictures of their idols or performers/models without all their fabulous face-goop on, coz lets face it, no-ones really going to post a picture of themselves with greasy hair and pimples!

So, I just wanted to show that even if you think that someone looks "perfect" in a photo, they still deal with the same issues as everyone else. There is nothing wrong with making yourself up to look how you want, but it shouldn't be a mask you feel you have to hide behind. Natural beauty and strength shines through.
